Welcome and thank you for stopping by. It is still going to take me some time to get things going but at least let me introduce myself.
I live up in Alpena, Michigan and practice hematology and oncology at the hospital. I received a B.A. in biology and M.S. in biology at Wayne State University. I then went on to medical school at MSUCOM. Internship and residency were both done at Mount Clemens General Hospital (now McLaren.) After my residency I practiced for one year as a hospitalist at Alpena Regional Medical Center (now Mid Michigan-Alpena.) I was accepted into the hematology and oncology fellowship program at Dartmouth in New Hampshire and spent a fabulous 3 years out there.
I am married with four children ranging in ages from 12 to 6. The small town we live in suits us well and we absolutely love it. I have a love/hate relationship with hematology and oncology. What I mean by that is that I absolutely HATE cancer and will do everything in my power to cure someone of it if possible. I also love what I do and can’t imagine doing anything else.
What I am going to try to accomplish is providing knowledge to the general public on different cancers, as well as, providing my perspective on the various issues associated with them. There is a great deal of misinformation out on the internet….believe me I hear about it daily.
